Several people are feared trapped after a six-storey building collapsed in Surat’s Sachin Pali village. Fifteen have suffered injuries, officials said.
The police and fire department officials have rushed to the spot and are carrying out a rescue operation at the site. Visuals from the spot showed rescue officials working through huge chunks of concrete, looking for those trapped.
According to the officials, the building was in a dilapidated condition and collapsed today after heavy rains lashed the area over the last few days.
