Kolkata, Sep 7: The auto in which Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose had made his ‘incredible break’ from his tribal house here in 1941 when he was under house capture by the then British government, is being reestablished by his family.
Authorities of Netaji Research Bureau (NRB) said German car maker Audi has been named to reestablish the four-entryway German Wanderer vehicle, stopped at his familial home here.
“They have now begun painting, changing old parts and so on. All we need is to build the life span of the auto which has extraordinary national criticalness. We need it to have the capacity to drive for little separations like 100 or 200 meters,” Kartik Chakraborty, secretary of the department told PTI.
The rebuilding work of the auto is relied upon to be finished by December, he said.
It was in this auto bearing number plate BLA 7169 that Netaji was driven from Kolkata to Gomoh in Jharkhand by his nephew Sisir Kumar Bose in January 1941.
The auto was last determined in 1971 again by Sisir Bose, child of Netaji’s senior sibling Sarat Chandra Bose while shooting for a narrative of Films Division.
“We had kept it (the auto) for open show however it was never brought out on the streets. Our staff Naga Sundaram who used to push it likewise passed away,” Chakraborty said.
NRB is controlled by Krishna Bose and her child Sugata and is situated in Netaji Bhawan, which is the hereditary place of the Bose family.
