Bridge collapses, movement hit on NH-49 in Deogarh

Deogarh (Odisha), Sept 10: A scaffold collapsed close Baniakilinda in Odisha’s Deogarh region disturbing vehicular development on National Highway number 49 associating Mumbai to Kolkata today.

The old scaffold over a waterway at Bengasula caved in as its focal column got disengaged taking after unremitting deluge the previous evening, authorities said.

Taking after the occurrence, an expansive number of vehicles, essentially trucks, were stranded on both sides of the street, they said.

As a transitory game plan, vehicles on the course are currently being occupied through National Highway number 53, Executive Engineer C R Das said.

In the meantime, steps are being taken to set up a preoccupation to empower the vehicles to go through till the extension is repaired, he said.
