Can’t return Dawood as we don’t know where he may be: Pak emissary

Nagpur, June.4 : With media reports loaded with data on whereabouts of India’s most needed criminal Dawood Ibrahim, implying at him being in Karachi, Pakistan High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit on Saturday said there is no doubt of giving over the underworld wear to India, as Islamabad didn’t know about his area in any case.

Abdul Basit, associating with the media at Patrakar Bhavan here, initially dodged the inquiry on the Dawood, yet later said that there was no doubt of giving over to the Don, as he was not in Pakistan.

“Don’t know where he is. He is not in Pakistan. Kindly don’t expect somebody who is not in Pakistan to be given over to you. How is it conceivable to hand over somebody whose whereabouts we don’t have the foggiest idea,” he said.

Basit, who is on a three-day outing to Nagpur, said that discussions are the best way to guarantee peace and strength in the locale.

“Unless the important and continuous exchange is held, nothing is going to work. More often than not, center is on terrorism and Kashmir. In any case, there are different issues that merit dialogs,” he said.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had a month ago said that India’s most needed outlaw Dawood Ibrahim will be grabbed soon and conveyed to India.

The Union Minister, nonetheless, has not said a particular time length for this.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had prior emphasized that it will keep on pursueing Pakistan to handover Dawood after a TV station asserted that it has followed his area.
