In a significant step towards bridging educational divides, schools affiliated with the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) are set to collaborate with nearby government schools in an initiative aimed at enhancing education quality across India.Â
The initiative, driven by CISCE as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, will see CISCE’s Schools of Excellence share their methodologies with government schools to strengthen teaching quality. CISCE’s CEO, Dr Joseph Emmanuel, in an exclusive conversation with NDTV, emphasised that this project is not about ‘poaching’ schools from other boards, but about a collective effort involving students, teachers, and parents for educational betterment.
As part of its commitment to inclusivity and innovation, CISCE will also offer students opportunities to learn three languages, adhering to the National Education Policy’s (NEP) three-language formula. However, Dr Emmanuel clarified that no language would be made compulsory, a move that respects regional preferences like Tamil Nadu’s stance against the three-language requirement.
