‘Out of line, false assault on a taught government employee’: Jaitley shields Arvind Subramanian
New Delhi, June 23: Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday repeated his backing to Chief Economic Adviser Arvind Subramanian, instantly under flame from BJP pioneer Subramanian Swamy, and named it to be an unjustifiable and false assault on a taught government employee.
“An uncalled for and false assault on a taught government employee in the Finance Ministry,” Jaitley said in a tweet.
Expressing that lawmakers ought to be taught in making assaults on authorities whose workplaces compel them from reacting, the Finance Minister yesterday said the BJP-drove government has full trust in the Chief Economic Adviser.
Swamy, the recently selected Rajya Sabha MP, had prior in a progression of tweets requested that the Chief Economic Advisor be sacked for what he called his “against India position” on financial issues amid his spells in Washington at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and at the Center for Global Development.
“Who said to US Cong on 13/3/13 the US ought to act against India to protect US Pharmaceuticals interests? Arvind Subramanian MoF !! Sack him!!!,” he tweeted.
Swamy’s upheaval against the Chief Economic Advisor came days after he tackled RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan.
