National Lok Adalat settles more than one lakh cases

New Delhi, Sep 10: Over one lakh pre-suit and pending cases were settled by the National Lok Adalat held in the high courts and different courts the nation over today.

The ‘Lok Adalat’ held by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) discarded the pre-case and pending cases identifying with criminal compoundable matters and those of other nature.

As per a NALSA explanation, more than 53,000 pre-prosecution cases and more than 67,000 pending cases were settled today till 4.30 PM.

In addition, gatherings could touch base at definite settlements worth more than Rs 202.79 crore, it said.

The Lok Adalat, be that as it may, couldn’t be held in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
