The HR head of NewsClick – the news website being investigated under the anti-terror law UAPA for connections to China-linked entities to receive funding to broadcast Chinese propaganda – has filed an application to become a government witness. Sources told NDTV Amit Chakravarty, who filed the plea in Delhi’s Patiala House Court, recorded his statement on Saturday. Mr Chakravarty, and NewsClick founder Prabir Purkayastha, were arrested early October by Delhi Police’s Special Cell.
