New Delhi, Aug 22: Government today said 10,079 towns have been energized till date under DeenDayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojna.

“Twenty eight towns have been energized the nation over amid a week ago (August 15-21, 2016) under the DeenDayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojna,” Power Ministry said in an announcement.

With the charge of these towns, the quantity of jolted towns in the nation has come to 10,079.

Out of these 28 recently energized towns, four are in Assam, five in Chhattisgarh, three in Jharkhand, 10 in Meghalaya and 6 in Rajasthan, the announcement said.

“10,079 towns have been energized till date. Out of staying 8,373 towns, 525 towns are uninhabited. 5,069 towns are to be jolted through lattice, 2,590 towns to be zapped through off-framework where matrix arrangements are out of scope because of land obstructions and 189 towns are to be energized by the state government,” it said.
