Three constables hung on blackmail charge

New Delhi, Apr 9: Three Delhi Police constables, incorporating one posted in Special Cell, supposedly attempted to blackmail Rs 20 lakh from the proprietor of a level in the wake of jumping into its premises in southwest Delhi’s Dwarka Sector 10.

The constables – distinguished as Sandeep (26) posted at Special Cell, Dinesh Kumar of Security unit and Prashant of fourth Batallion – have been captured under charges of house trespass and blackmail, a senior police official said.

The occurrence became known at the beginning of today when the complainant rang the police and reported that three persons had persuasively entered his flat and were looking the premises, guaranteeing to be Delhi Police authorities.

The men then told the complainant that they have learnt about “wrong exercises” occurring in the level and purportedly requested Rs 20 lakh to settle the matter. They even professedly pointed a firearm at him, the authority said.

A police group hurried to the spot and the blamed were secured. Their personality cards ended up being bona fide.

The charged have likewise been suspended and departmental request has been started, the authority included.
