Voting starts for first period of Assembly surveys in Assam, WB
Guwahati (Assam), April 4: The first of the two-stage Assam get together surveys started today at 7 a.m. in the midst of strict security in 65 bodies electorate.
A sum of 539 candidates,including 43 ladies, are in the fight. More than 95 lakh voters will choose the destiny of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and BJP Chief Ministerial competitor Sarbananda Sonowal.
Upwards of 1,241 surveying stations have been distinguished as “basic” surveying stations, 1,992 as “touchy” and 3,739 as ‘delicate’.
The Congress Party has handled an aggregate of 65 hopefuls; the BJP has set up 52, and AIUDF 27. The second period of the surveying will happen on April 11.
In West Bengal, voting has started for the principal period of get together races in 18 supporters in the midst of tight security.
These supporters incorporate six seats in Paschim Medinipur, nine in Purulia and three in Bankura regions.
4,940 surveying stations have been set-up for more than 40 lakh voters, who will choose the destiny of 133 competitors.
39 competitors are in the quarrel in Paschim Medinipur, 72 In Purulia and 22 in Bankura. 11 of the applicants are ladies.
Voters at the vast majority of the corners were seen lining up well before the begin of voting at 7 a.m.
As most parts of around 13 of the 18 voting public are in Left Wing Extremist influenced territories, the Election Commission has set up tight efforts to establish safety.
The other six surveying dates in the state are April 11, 17, 21, 25, 30 and May 5.
